The defining feature of the 208 is the jump to dual 8,000 lb Oil-Bath Torsion Axles. These provide a much smoother ride and significantly more carrying capacity than the 7K spring axles on the 207, making it the sweet spot for heavy 5-ton to 6-ton equipment.

While the 207 runs 14-ply tires, the 208 upgrades you to ST215/75R17.5 18-ply radial tires. These are nearly "bulletproof" commercial-grade tires designed to handle the increased heat and weight of 18K loads without the frequent blowouts common in lower-ply ratings.
