The FD is built on a massive 12" I-beam chassis (weighing 19 lbs per foot).

• The Benefit: This is a significant jump in steel thickness compared to standard deckovers. It provides the rigid backbone necessary to support over 10 tons of cargo without the frame bowing or twisting under load.

• 10K Model (25K GVWR): Features Dual 10,000 lb Oil-Bath Axles. These are standard for operators who need high capacity but want to keep the trailer more maneuverable and avoid some of the heavier maintenance associated with larger setups.

• 12K Model (25.9K GVWR): Steps up to Dual 12,000 lb Oil-Bath Axles. These axles use a heavier-duty braking system and larger bearings, designed for constant daily use hauling massive machines like dozers or large excavators.

Both the 10K and 12K axles come standard with Oil-Bath Hubs rather than grease.

• The Benefit: Maintenance is much simpler; you can check your lubrication levels through a clear sight cap. Oil also dissipates heat better than grease, which is critical for long-distance hauling with heavy weight.

The FD provides a full 102" width and includes an Under-Frame Bridge on models 30' and longer.

• The Benefit: An under-frame bridge is a structural truss welded under the main I-beam. It acts as a "spine" that prevents the trailer from sagging in the middle over time, especially when hauling concentrated loads like steel coils or heavy equipment.

Lamar upgrades the FD to Dual 10K 2-Speed Jacks as standard for 2026.

• The Benefit: 2-speed jacks allow you to drop the legs quickly in high gear when empty, then switch to low gear for 2.5 times more cranking power when you need to lift the tongue of a fully loaded trailer.

Every FD comes with a lockable, full-width toolbox integrated into the neck (gooseneck) or tongue.

• The Benefit: This is massive storage. It is large enough to hold multiple sets of 5/16" or 3/8" transport chains, binders, and recovery straps, keeping them out of the elements and locked away from theft.
