12' Self-Locking Hydraulic Dovetail

The defining feature of the YDX is the massive 12-foot hydraulic tail.

• The Benefit: It provides a super-shallow 12.5° loading angle. Unlike manual ramps, the hydraulic tail is a full-width platform, meaning you can load wide-track tractors or narrow-wheel forklifts with equal ease. The 2026 model features an automatic locking mechanism—once the tail is raised, it is mechanically locked for transport without you ever leaving the cab.

Engineered I-Beam Frame with Torque Tube

The YDX is built on a high-tensile, laser-cut "Engineered Beam" (typically 12" x 19lb or 22lb).

• The Benefit: To support the weight of the hydraulic system and the 12' tail, MAXX-D includes a standard Torque Tube (a heavy-duty pipe running the length of the frame). This prevents "frame twist" when hauling heavy, off-center loads and ensures the trailer tracks perfectly straight behind your truck at highway speeds.

3" I-Beam Crossmembers on 12" Centers

While many competitors use 16" spacing, the 2026 YDX steps up to 12" on-center spacing as a standard or frequent upgrade.

• The Benefit: This is "Extreme Duty" floor support. It prevents the wood or optional Blackwood floor from sagging under the massive point-pressure of steel tracks or high-PSI machinery tires.

Standard Dual 10,000 lb. Dexter® Axles (Up to 30K GVWR)

The YDX starts with tandem dual 10K axles but is frequently spec’d with 12K or 15K units.

• The Benefit: These are paired with HDSS (Heavy Duty Step System) Suspension, which is adjustable and far more durable than standard slipper springs. This suspension absorbs road shock better, protecting both the trailer’s hydraulic components and your cargo.

Multi-Function Wireless Remote

The YDX often comes standard with a 4-function wireless remote.

• The Benefit: You can operate the Hydraulic Dovetail and the Dual Hydraulic Jacks from up to 250 feet away. This allows you to stand at the rear of the trailer to watch your equipment's clearance while simultaneously lowering the tail.

Blackwood® Rubber-Infused Runners (Standard Option)

Many units include Blackwood lumber on the dovetail runners.

• The Benefit: Steel-on-steel or wet wood can be incredibly slick. Blackwood features a rubber insert that provides massive traction for steel-tracked excavators or wet tires, making loading much safer in rain or snow.

• Payload: Up to ~20,500 lbs (on 30K GVWR models).

• Axles: Dual 10K, 12K, or 15K Dexter® Electric or Electric/Hydraulic Brakes.

• Tires: ST235/80R16 E Duals (Standard) or 17.5" H-Rated 16-Ply (Recommended).

• Jacks: Dual 10K Drop-Leg (Standard) or Dual Hydraulic Jacks (J09 Upgrade).

• Finish: MAXX-D 6-Step Powder Coat with Zinc-Rich Primer.

• Loading Efficiency: The YDX is "un-hook and go." You don't spend 5–10 minutes wrestling with heavy flip-over ramps.

• Usable Deck Space: Because the dovetail is 12' long and can hold up to 8,000 lbs (distributed) while in the flat position, it essentially gives you more usable "level" deck space for hay or long materials than a traditional 5' dovetail.
